07:48am, drop-off done.

This is becoming a nice Wednesday routine.. that will last for all of two weeks. I'd be out on business trip next week.

I dozed off with all the lights on, woke up at 330am to turn them off. I thought I could sleep in until 7, but guess who came knocking on my door at 630am? 😁

She saw the pile of pillows on our bed and thought it was Daddy.
Exclaimed "Baba!" very enthusiastically, only to be reminded by Mama that Baba is still in camp.

This must be how the women in #DOTS feel, when their boyfriends are outfield and uncontactable. And guess who cheekily changed his name in my phone to "Big Boss"? πŸ˜…

This cheeky streak runs in the family, because this morning, while walking along the running track, the little one clenched her fists, placed them in front of her chest, and pretended to run and pant.. like the uncles and aunties jogging past us.

One of them caught her doing that, smiled and waved at her. She smiled back very sweetly.

So cheeky.

But at drop-off, she was hugging her water bottle and walking into the classroom with one of the teachers after waving a tearful goodbye to me.

Overheard this as they were walking in.

Teacher: I hold your hand?
πŸ‘Ά: No.

Pick-up time!

Finished 3 hours of back to back calls, had a quick lunch and off i went!

She cried and grumbled all the way as she walked to the door where she saw me waiting.

Hahaha the school officer saw her and said to me, "But she was perfectly fine just now!"

Drama queen. πŸ˜…

Checking herself out. πŸ˜…

She wanted to walk on her own.

Points at her nose.
Points at the pavement.

She protested when I carried her across the road.

"Go. Down. Down!"

Cried and cried.

So I walked to the mall to buy bread and let her walk around.

"Hold," she said.
She wanted to hold the bag of bread.

She refused to let me hold her hand.

And then she walked towards..

The playground.

Insisted on standing on this.

Under the 1245pm sun, no less.

I told her it's hot and we should go home.
She said no.

I said bye bye to her, and walked about 5 metres away.

She waved bye bye to me.
The funny thing was that she didn't even say it in a defiant way.
She was genuinely saying bye bye, I'm alright standing here on my own, thank you mama. πŸ˜…

Since threats didn't work, I bribed her with 10 minutes of tablet time.

Look who's running home now! πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

Ready to write about the rest of my day in reverse chronological order. πŸ˜…

Worked for 1+ hour after tucking baby in bed.

Hummed "row row row the boat" and watched her fall asleep as she snuggled close to me, and placed her hand on top of mine on top of her bum. πŸ˜…

We watched TV together. She sat beside me on the couch and I had my hand wrapped around her.

She felt sad for the character played by Sheila Sim. Frowned and pointed at the TV, asking me to "See?" πŸ˜‚

I think Sheila Sim has improved a lot on her acting!

In last night's episode, she was taking bridal photos alone while waiting for her fiance to show up for the photo shoot.
He did not turn up.
Instead, she got a message from him saying he was sorry.. and then she finally broke down.

Pretty powerful performance.

Clarissa was so moved she hugged me sadly.
I had to tell her, "It's ok, she'll find someone who truly loves her."

Applies in real life too.

Just want to say..

I'm enjoying the kind of closeness Clarissa demonstrates with me.

Not overly clingy, but just wanting to be close by.

She was munching on some apple slices at one side of the coffee table while I sat on the sofa at the other side of the table.

She'd walk to the other side of the table, grab two slices of apple, walk over to me, feed me a slice, and then squeeze herself in between the table and me, to eat her apple.

Once she finishes the apple, she'd repeat the same actions over again.

She does this like it's the most natural thing for her to do, it makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside.

Her pigtails brushing against my face, her turning and smiling at me because the apples are delicious.

We are both missing Baba though!
