Today, the little boss put on her shoes entirely on her own!

Correct sides and all.

I told her she must have practised hard! 😁

We were planning to eat out but since lunch was already prepared we brought it along.

I started feeding her but somehow she asked for the spoon and started feeding herself.

Said to me, "Mummy, you eat your own food."

Except that our food wasn't here yet.

But still, she finished all the porridge on her own!

Can you do this more often please? πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

Woke up from her nap and wanted to go downstairs.

She stood outside the toilet waiting for her Daddy, who was sitting on the throne, to come out.

"Daddy are you done?" She kept asking. πŸ˜‚

Anyway we left on our own so Daddy could do his business in peace.

She had a shopping list!

"Clarissa wants to buy surprise egg and Wang Wang. Mummy buy dinner!" She said as we walked to the coffee shop.

So we ordered dinner and then visited the mini mart.

We got the egg, Wang Wang, and also a Yan Yan for her.

I asked her, "Clarissa, do you need to get anything else?"

She thought about it and walked towards the checkout counter where the Vicks menthol sweets we usually buy are.

"Mummy, do you want to buy sweets for you?" She pointed at them and turned to ask me.

Aiyo why you ι…± sweet de. πŸ˜…πŸ˜

Just me and her tonight because the hubs is out for a wedding dinner.

I had to go to the toilet but kept the door open in case she wanted to look for me.

She came along less than a minute later.

πŸ‘Ά: Mummy, are you pooping?
πŸ‘§: I want to poop but I cannot because you are watching me.
πŸ‘Ά: Mummy, you poop! Baby stand here only!
πŸ‘§: Actually I cannot poop when you are standing here watching me.
πŸ‘Ά: (Covers her eyes) Mummy, you pretend I'm not here!

I really don't want to write about the helper anymore.

Since that night she turned tables against us, we resolved to end the working relationship amicably. We asked that she continues to treat Clarissa well and help us with the transition.

Our interaction has been cordial, though obviously not the same as before.

I still say my pleases and thank yous and ask her questions about Clarissa, but I no longer chit chat with her.

The hubs only responds when she greets him, but doesn't talk to her at all.

So the minute the hubs went out this evening, we were setting the table for my and Clarissa’s dinner.

"Ma'am, can I ask you a question?" She said to me, in her usual "I'm so shy to ask" tone.

"Yes, sure," I said, not showing much emotion.

I thought she'd be making a request for the return date or something like that.

She smiled a little, not really looking at me in the eye.

Ma'am, if it is ok, can I renew my contract?

She asked.

In the two seconds after she asked the million dollar question, all I thought was, You. Did. Not. Just. Ask. This. Question.

I looked up, looked at her straight in the eye and said, "No, L*, you are going back."

She immediately retreated like a wounded puppy and said, "Nevermind. It's ok."

"Tell me what made you change your mind again," I offered.

"No, nothing. It's ok," She said and went into the kitchen, completely silent.

As I had dinner with Clarissa, I wondered if I had been too quick to say no.

Not because I wanted to say yes, because I am curious to know if it is because she'd realised she was wrong or because she really just needed the money and was willing to suck it up for another awful two years.

I was also wondering if my knee jerk response would trigger some unknown, weird emotions in her again, that might potentially be dangerous to us.

But I wasn't going to chase after her again to find out how she's feeling, what's wrong, tell me how I can help.. like I used to.

I wish I were a spy on the wall of her brains.

What gave her the audacity to even dare to poach the question with me?

What made her think she had the right to even ask, when she'd effectively burnt all bridges that very night she used that haughty and rude tone to tell us we suck as employers?

What made her change her mind now?

I guess I'll never know because I'm not going to ask. πŸ˜‚

But writing it down for my own record.

Our daughter can read Chinese! πŸ˜‚βœŒ

So banana but so cute.

The angle is funny because I was sitting beside her and didn't want her to see that I was filming.

She would usually say "妈妈!" enthusiastically to the last part of the story, because according to the book "εΈƒεΈƒζœ€ηˆ±ηš„εŽŸζ₯是妈妈!" πŸ˜…

But by then she'd realised I was filming so she abruptly finished the story lol.
