Dinner with a view.
We are back in Seoul!
I shall attempt to #dayre in reverse order.
That's if I don't fall asleep before I finish. ๐
This one ate very well tonight!
Omu-rice with fish. โ
She took more than half my portion and even after picking out the onions and ham, she ate a fair bit and even asked for more.
She didn't eat much in Jeju besides lots of bread and biscuits.
After two unsuccessful famfie attempts (one photo bomb and one, someone's looking somewhere else๐)..
This is our best shot.
This girl was too happy running around to let us take proper pictures.
Instead she insisted on taking pictures for us.
We followed her line of vision and managed to squeeze into the frame for a series of hilarious pictures taken by the little boss.
This morning we bade goodbye to our airbnb studio and this view we woke up to for the past 2 mornings.
It's a loft style studio apartment.
My FIL took the bed on the first storey while we took the loft.
Our host was very warm and helpful, and the place was cosy.
On hindsight though we should have picked a different layout.
Kinda inconvenient to walk up and down the stairs to use the bathroom, etc.
She was very delighted though.
And she absolutely loved the cot bed provided.
It's actually a mattress with cushioned "walls"!
Imma try to find it in Singapore. ๐
The 3 days 2 nights in Jeju were pretty tough despite us renting a car and having all the freedom to plan our itinerary.
Which was why I really did not have the energy to update for the past two days.
For one the weather was much colder than expected so the only person with really warm clothes was Clarissa.
Because she has a #kiasumom. ๐
The hubs and I took it in our stride but my FIL was completely thrown off and felt unwell (and hence grumpy ๐).
The hubs planned the itinerary thinking his dad would enjoy the nature and all the scenery.
We went to the waterfall but did not complete the trail.
His dad was like, "You can see the waterfall from here. Don't need to go all the way down. Later very hard to come up."
We drove to the mountain but did not even step in there.
"If you really want to see the view from the mountain, just drive around it and then drive off! I'm very tired I don't want to walk."
๐๐๐
I'm ok with it because it is kinda expected (and quite funny) but I think the hubs felt a little deflated.
The little boss is the real trooper.
She insisted on walking down the steps to view the waterfall on her own and didn't want to be carried at all.
It's less back breaking for me and I think the hubs' back is feeling very grateful.
She proceeded to walk back up to where we started, after Ah-gong stopped her from going further.
This was taken after she woke up from her nap in the car.
We deliberately drove to the furthest destination so she could take a longer nap.
She was clearly still tired but raring to go. She made all sorts of funny faces at the flowers, including one where she was pinching her nose like the flowers smell bad. ๐
We somehow found ourselves in hello kitty island, recommended by our airbnb host.
He really likes Clarissa! Always trying to talk to her and telling us how cute she is. He has a 11 year old son and he told me, over breakfast, that sometimes seeing little girls like Clarissa makes him want to have another kid. But he's hesitant because there is no guarantee they will have a girl.
Anyway, hello kitty. We had to pay entrance fees to get in omg.
I'm really not a fan and neither is the hubs.. and I think my FIL must be thinking what he was doing there lol.
But this girl, whom i don't think is a big fan either, had such a great time. I think it's money well spent. ๐ ๐
I think it was all the fun things like the school bus and telephone booth that made her so excited.
We went into the souvenir shop before leaving.. and she picked a hello kitty.. CAR!
Hahahaha.
Not the soft toy ok, but car.
So cool, our girl.
The other thing that made the jeju trip really tiring was my lack of sleep.
We always woke up before 7am (6am SG time) because the curtains are see through and it's very bright by then.
My sleep was shit, because I would sleep for maybe 2 hours, wake up to use the bathroom, and couldn't go back to sleep due to the symphony of snoring. ๐
When I eventually dozed off, my FIL would be up and I'd be awake again. And before I knew it the sun's out. ๐๐
But it's still worth it, working as a team with the hubs to get things going and seeing how much our little girl has grown with each trip.
This is her 6th overseas trip not counting road trips to Malaysia.
Her ability to deal with long rides is pretty amazing. She'll be asking for things to eat or do, like reading or stickering. Or she'd be talking to herself explaining the itinerary I'd just explained to her, or she'd be singing.
She's also able to tell when she's tired and would always turn to me to ask me, "Mummy can I sleep in the car / bus?"
I'd say yes of course and she'd take her duck and really sleep.
It was also as if she was trying to check if her sleeping in the car / bus would affect the itinerary . ๐
I love how she asks me the same question everyday:
Where are we going today?
I hope she'd always have this sense of adventure. ๐
