The little one's down with a low grade fever since yesterday afternoon.
Must be all the pooping and sweating and the crazy weather.
Gave her some meds after dinner and she was her usual chatty self.
Was asleep by 830pm.
But she was up at 2am, feverish again.
She wanted to sleep beside me in our bed so I let her.
She fell back asleep.
Woke up again at 515am, when Daddy was getting ready to go back to camp.
"Where's my milk huh?" She asked.
So we gave her meds and milk.
This time she wanted to sleep on her mattress in her room so I lay down beside her.
Again, fast asleep after finishing her milk.
With less than hour to the alarm ringing, I tried to go back to sleep.
Ended up snoozing and resetting the alarm a few times for that "5 more minutes" before I finally dragged myself out of bed.
She woke up as I was washing up.
I told her there would be no school for her today and she wanted me to stay at home with her.
She was rather whiny and even pulled me close to her to hug me.
I would have taken emergency leave but I have a 830am meeting which I cannot miss as we are leading it.
So I said sorry I really need to go to work but I'll try to come home earlier today.
Something clicked and she said, "I want to play with Yaya."
And she did.
I got changed.
When I came out of my room she looked at me and said:
Mummy, why you wear until like this huh?
πππ
I kid you not.
Those were her exact words.
#thingsclarissasays
So I asked her, "Not nice?"
She said, "Not nice."
Which part not nice, I asked her.
She touched my top and said, "This one, and all."
Hahahahaha wtf.
I sat at the dining table to write down some instructions and meds schedule for our helper, and she did the same. Lol.
"This one you take huh. Then you take probiotics," said Dr. Little Boss.
So I guess she's fine.
Hope the fever goes away soon!
@linuxess I don't usually take #ootds because so shy. π
But is this really questionable? ππ
(And since/while I'm at it:
Top: bsym
Pants: asos
Shoes: aldo
Bag: longchamp
hahahahaha wtf)
10 years
In a few days' time, it'd be officially 10 years since I joined the company.
My boss made the announcement today, even though I tried to tell him before that it is ok not to.
My 5 years service award wasn't announced because I didn't want to. π
But 10 years, wow.
10 years ago, I don't think I'd have imagined being with the company for this long.
I was so happy when I got the job offer, because it was my dream company and my dream job.
Getting insights out of data AND people.
I'm an introvert and I feel socially awkward most of the time. But I love observing people and trying to understand their motivations. I love linking the dots and telling a story. I love the challenge of influencing people.
Coming back to my overused saying, the days are long but the years are short.
There have been good days, bad days and very bad days. But it has been a good 10 years.
The experience of traveling to 16 cities (maybe more), meeting more than 1000 consumers, visiting at least 200 homes (see looking at 200 bathrooms), working across different categories, from selling a $2 toothbrush to a $200 facial cream, has been both mindblowing and humbling.
More importantly, I'm thankful for the people I've met and worked with, whether they are my managers, reportees or multi functional team members.
I've learned so much from them, and I feel fortunate to have people looking out for me and to have friendships that last beyond the job itself.
There are things I feel strongly about and things I disagree with, but there really is no perfect company, just like there is no perfect employee.
So I choose to be thankful for the experience and the people, and for both the ups and downs throughout the 10 years.. especially today. π
I thought she was angry with me for going to work, because of her comment on my outfit and because she refused to talk to me when I called home in between meetings..
But she greeted me happily and told me, "Mummy, I drank a lot of water!"
Sang me a birthday song and gave me a piece of cake. ππ
Very professional temperature taking record.
Good job our helper!
But while I was playing with her at 8ish in the evening, her forehead felt a little warm again.
37.5Β°C on one ear and 38Β°C on the other.
So I gave her paraceutamol again.
She's invited herself to sleep with me again tonight, and she placed two minions on our bed to sleep with her. π
Aye not sure what's causing the fever.
Hope it goes away tomorrow.
She seems alright otherwise.
That's her turning on the radio and up the volume and dancing to the music.
Cheeky. ππ
Oh, and before I went to take a shower, she looked at my top again, felt it with her hand and said, "This one, not nice."
Hahahaha fml.
So I guess she was commenting from a professional perspective and not because she was angry with me for going to work.
