Bday brunch and Ice cream with Yi-yis

For two nights in a row now, the little boss has requested to bunk in with me.

Haha guess she figured that's the only way for her to have "everybody sleep with me".

She came back from school yesterday very excited about her Children's Day goodies. Went around feeding us the sweets she got.

But she was also quite whiny, usually a sign that she's tired.

So we got her in bed at 9 and she was asleep before 930pm.

I slept at 10! And woke up at 3am.

Which is good because I've been waking up every 1-2 hours every night since some time ago.

I think I eventually went back to sleep around 4am, and woke up every hour after that.

The little one stirred around 6 but kept on sleeping until 715am.

I realised that she always stirs at around 6am but manages to go back to sleep on her own whenever she sleeps in our room.

When she wakes up at 6ish in her own room, she'd walk out to look for me, and that probably wakes her up completely. 😅

Anyway I pretended to be sleeping when she woke up, just to see what she'd do.

She continued lying down for a good 15 minutes before she leaned forward to rest her head on my shoulder.

I opened my eyes and she whispered to me, "I want to drink milk, ok?" 😂

And then she went back to her Daddy's pillow, and said, "Eh I thought Daddy is sleeping here?"

Lol I told her there was no enough space for Daddy so he went to sleep in the study room.

#ootd before we head out for brunch.

The original plan, one month ago, was to go for brunch followed by a staycation to celebrate the hubs birthday.

I was still prepared to go (and lie down on the hotel bed to chill) but the hubs said he wanted me to have fun too. So he called the hotel and the booking site to postpone the dates to next year.

He also didn't want to go for brunch initially because I couldn't sit for too long without getting my feet all swollen.

But I wanted us to get out of the house, even if it is just for a short while.

I'll just be sitting down most of the time, I told him.

So off we went and here we are, our annual affair.

She was excited about seeing the horses and pony, but on our way there she asked us, "Is there a unicorn over there?"

So sweet together.

Happy birthday Daddy!
😗😗😗

2015, 2016, 2017.

She really looks like a proper little girl now. 😊

And a goofy one. 😆

Famfie!

We really ended up just eating and leaving because the weather was crazy humid and all of us were sweating even though we were seated under the fan.

The pony station was closed by the time the hubs took the bubs over there.

I think she was a little disappointed but I hope she at least enjoyed the fries she requested for?

Next time ok?

Last night over dinner, she suddenly asked us, "How come nobody come to my house?" and gave a small pout.

I reminded her that Wai-gong and Da-yi came over just the night before.

Haha so 热情好客?

On our way home, she asked the same question again.

I asked her who she wants to see at our place, she said, "Auntie O."

I told her she needs to go home and take a nap first.

She nodded and said, "I sleep, I wake up, and then Auntie O, and ALLLLLL my Yi-yis and Gor-gor will come!"

#thingsclarissasays

The first question she asked me when she woke up from her nap:

"Are all my Yi-yis coming?"

Lol. I told her she needs to ask them herself.

So I helped her send a voice message to our group chat.

It sounded more like a demand than a request. 😅😅😅

Unrelated photo – I took it while she was in the middle of exclaiming how nice the water was.

(It was just water. 😂)

She was zooming in and out of the rooms while waiting for her Yi-yis.

She stood in between her room, where our helper was, and our room, where we were, and suddenly gave me a secretive, knowing smile.

"Mummy! You know?" She said in a very loud whisper. "Just now Yaya dig her nose!"

😂😂😂
Hahahahaha.

We had to stifle our laughter because it was so awkward for our helper whom I'm sure heard everything.

Look who's here!

Lol she was in the midst of pooping when they arrived so she was not very ready. 😅😂

Ooh sis#4 got us 古早味 muah chee! 😋

Post-dinner ice-cream.

Ah-ah not in pic because she was taking a 15-minute nap. 😂

Guess who's the happiest?

We only gave her a little but she was so engrossed with her ice cream I had to call her 5 times before she looked up for a photo. 😅

(And I'm now lying sideways in bed to rest my feet and tight tummy.

Thankful for #babysitters!)

Recounted by the hubs after bedtime duty.

The bubs had so much fun with her Yi-yis she was too excited to fall asleep after finishing her milk so she was tossing and turning in her bed.

So the hubs got up from the mattress, leaned over and said to her, "Clarissa, it's time to sleep, ok?"

She gave him a big smile and whispered, "Ok!"

Followed by giving him a kiss on the cheek.

So sweet! 😗
