Of exercise and 3 months young!

It was quite difficult getting out of bed this morning. I kept wanting to snooze. πŸ˜‚

The hubs had a boys' night and came home at 2ish am.

But yes! We did it!

I started slow, but was able to pick up momentum from the 3rd round.

I felt strong enough to do more after the 4th round, which was my target for today, but Clarissa had to pee. πŸ˜‚

So I swapped places with the hubs. He ran while I took Clarissa home to pee before going back to the park to do some stretching.

All in all a good start! πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ

Happy 3 months young, sweetheart!

Tried to take a proper milestone photo of her.

Hahaha but it's either unflattering double chin or she ends up nearly toppling forward. πŸ˜…

It's quite funny isn't it, Mummy?

Jiejie saw me taking photos and asked me to put Meimei on the bouncer. πŸ˜‚

I did.

She proceeded to sit on the same spot and asked me to take a picture of her and mama duck.

So I took a milestone photo of Jiejie too. πŸ˜†

#fomo leh.

It's inevitable to compare the two girls' milestones, and it's especially convenient for me, because they are almost exactly 3 years apart and I'd get reminders from Facebook and Google photos.

It's good in the sense I get to compare notes, recall and preempt some of the developmental milestones.

What I don't wish to do though, is to compare who's faster or better or whatever. It's not a competition.

Babies should develop at their own pace, and on whatever they are keen on.

Clarissa flipped over from back to tummy, all on her own, when she was 3 months old.

I was so surprised, and very amused because she did it herself, no one forced her but she wasn't happy and kept grumbling.

I guess it was because she couldn't really lift her head up? πŸ˜‚

Allie, on the other hand, is showing no signs at all of being able to flip over from her back to tummy. πŸ˜†

But her neck is quite strong!

Anyway developmental milestones are really just a rough guidance.

I'm not expecting Clarissa to be in gifted program or to become an Olympic champion just because she could flip at 3 months. πŸ˜…

The two girls have rather different temperaments.

Clarissa is more feisty (at home, hahaha) and yet cautious. She had stranger anxiety at just 4mo? Lol and she frowned a lot, so much that I got worried if it was because I was too stressed up when I was pregnant with her.

Allie is more smiley and chatty. Super curious too, always looking around (which might explain why her naps are so short? πŸ˜‚).

She would listen intently when we talk or tell stories, and smile when we turn to look at her.

She's somewhat ok with sitting on her own, turning her head and staring around.. but she'd also call out to us and once we turn or go to her she'd start chatting and smiling non-stop. πŸ˜†

But it's a different story when she's tired, and worse when she's over-tired. πŸ˜‚

When she's tired her eyes become even smaller and form a straight line. She either becomes very quiet or very fussy. πŸ˜…

When she's over-tired, she protests until she's all red in the face and refuses to sleep or finish her milk.

Three months in, I'm getting to know her a little better, but still learning everyday. 😊

What I do know for sure, is how much she brightens our day, everyday, and how generous she is with her smiles and chuckles.
