Last night, we read the bedtime story of her choice – The Little Mermaid – and got to the part about the little mermaid finally celebrating her 15th birthday (and hence given the blessing to rise above the waters to see the world).
The little boss frowned and said to me, “But they cannot eat the cake in the Sea King’s castle, right? Because the cake would get very wet!”
I was stunned for a moment, because I’ve never thought about how mermaids eat cake under water.
So I said, “Hmm I’ve not thought about that. What should they do then?”
Without much hesitation, she answered:
“They should swim to the surface and eat the cake!”
Truly the cake expert. 😆🤣
