Eight felt like it was long, long ago.
Where did the time go?
Some people are hard to love, while some are hard not to love (despite waking up to party every single night 😂).
I guess sleep is for the weak.
There’s so much to do and so many things to play with!
Keep exploring, and keep finding joy in the quirky little things you do.
We are just a call away, and we know you are too.
I’ve tried and tested on many occasions so I think it’s not a fluke.
No matter what you’re holding on to, you’d will place it on your ear when I say “Hello, hello?” to you.
This is a phone, Mummy!
At nine months young now, you can walk around the perimeters of your cot very quickly.. And also do all kinds of stuff like stepping on your poor lizard friend, stuffing your rubber duck into the gap between the mattress and the cot, doing a backward bend, stuffing your own foot into the corner of the cot and reaching out for things outside the cot.
You’re also (way too) agile in the Mini-cooper, bending down, stretching out, pulling stuff and performing both the predictable and the unimaginable.
You also help yourself to Jiejie’s toys while Jiejie is in school.
Quite literally, the world is your playground.
This was you having fun while watching Yaya change the bedsheets.
Yaya hung the blanket, pillow and bolster momentarily over the cot, and you proceeded to pull everything into the cot and made yourself comfortable.
Sometimes you babble out really loudly, like you’re talking to your animal friends.
Sometimes you talk to them in your very sweet voice and pat them after tucking them underneath the playmat.
Sometimes you play quietly on your own in the playpen.. But it usually means you, err, are doing some sort of food-tasting.
Put a real biscuit in your hand, though, you grimace and wonder why you have to put it in your mouth.
So far, Jiejie has been the one breaking the rice cracker up into smaller pieces and feeding you.
Jiejie, whose first true love and forever love is biscuits, cannot understand why her Meimei does not voluntarily eat biscuits.
I can’t decide if you are a foodie or not.
For now we know you don’t like fish.
You’d deliberately spit it out by blowing raspberries.
All the fish, on the bib instead of in your mouth. 😅
You enjoy eating chicken though.
I’ve started getting Yaya to steam chicken with wolfberries before blending and adding it to pumpkin puree/soup, and topping them over wholemeal pasta.
This combination, you approve.
Besides Daddy, the person you adore the most is your sister.
When Jiejie is around, your eyes would never fail to follow her.
And sometimes you really go out of your way to look at what Jiejie is doing. 😂🤣
I think it’s true when they say one’s heart expands instead of divides when Number 2 comes along.
Thank you for expanding mine.
Thank you for being the affectionate and fun-loving sweetheart that you are.
(Though I sincerely hope you’d eventually stop trying to party in the middle of the night.
It’s been nine months and I’m still toying with the idea of whether I should sleep train you or not.
I tried once but gave up after five minutes.😅😂)
You’ve stolen our hearts since Day 1, and now, our stuff.
I love watching the two of you, whether you are zooming to and fro the living room for some pretend racing competition, or listening to stories or dancing together to some random song.
I hope you would continue to enjoy your adventures with Jiejie, Daddy and Mummy.
We love you, the apple of our eyes (and looking like one🍎😆).
Happy 9 months young!
