It has been yet another busy week. I feel like I’m either always in a rush or wishing things would happen faster so I can move onto the next task.

The only good news is that some meetings got shifted and I was able to work from home yesterday.

The bad news, though, is that despite having some semblance of peace from the buzz in office, I am still unable to finish the two pieces of analysis due on Monday.

Hence I shall spend this weekend working again, as I was lamenting to a colleague.

But I’m glad I got to catch this little monkey in action.

I’ve missed her almost all week except for one evening when I managed to get home before 7.

Otherwise 30 minutes would be all I get and she is always protesting before bedtime because she still wants to play.

She’s been trying to get on the tricycle, according to her Yaya.

But her “getting on” means standing on the seat. πŸ˜‚

What about sitting down instead?

I guess it’s equally fun.

Earlier this week, my helper sent this photo to me while I was at work.

She was putting away clothes in my room, which probably took three minutes?

Went back to the room and found that Allie had pulled out just enough towels from the bottom drawer so that she could stand in it.

I prefer to think of this as a sign of development, ie she understands sequences, that something has to go out before something can go in? Lol.

Pre bedtime stories and rolling around the bed.

Earlier this morning at Marine Cove.

The hubs came here for a run with his friend so we tagged along.

It’s a pretty awesome place for kids!

I gave her a quick demo of how to move around the rope and she navigated it entirely on her own.

I wanted to take a quick water break but she said she was hungry already.

So we headed over to Coffee Bean to get a seat.

“Clarissa, do you want a drink? Maybe a babyccino?” I asked her.

“Huh, but I’m not a baby anymore!” She said. “Do they have childrencinno?”

No such thing, but there’s a vanilla milkshake like drink.

We went back to the playground again while Daddy had breakfast with his friend.

Clarissa the gym rat. πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

She’s been quite witty these days I find myself either stumped or laughing or both.

Last night I was watching her shower after pumping some cleansing gel onto her palms.

She took her time lathering the soap into foam and slooowly spreading the foam on her body.

So I reminded her, not once but twice, “Put the soap on your hair please! Hurry up, put the soap to clean your hair.” (See first paragraph on how I’m always in a rush. πŸ˜‚)

She looked up at me with her big round eyes, still spreading the foam slowly and nonchalantly onto her arms, and said:

“Mummy, why I cannot wash my body first huh?”

I laughed, stepped out of the bathroom as usual and waited for her to let me know when she was done.

Later at night we were lazing around in bed just before turning off the lights and she was revising her math.

“Two and three make a five!” She exclaimed, holding up two fingers on one hand and three on the other before counting her fingers.

“Five and two make one, two, three, four, five, six, seven! Seven!” She said again.

“How about five and six?” I asked her deliberately. Not a #tigermom but still an #asianparent. πŸ˜‚

She put up five fingers πŸ–on one hand and a telephone sign πŸ€™on the other, and starting counting.

“One, two, three, four, five,” she counted the five fingers before moving to the next hand. “Six, seven!”

She paused.

“Seven?” She was puzzled. “Why seven huh?”

I guess she knows it’s not the correct answer but doesn’t know what the correct answer is.

Well, that’s still a good start.
